An increasing number of business leaders say their organisations are on track to hit their 2030 net zero targets, according to a new report.
KPMG’s latest CEO Outlook survey found that 61% say they are confident of achieving the goal, compared to just 51% a year ago.
They cite the biggest hurdles to progress as the complexity of decarbonising supply chains, a lack of skills and expertise to successfully implement solutions, and cost.
The report found that CEOs are increasingly recognising the potential of AI to support their decarbonisation and sustainability efforts through measures including identifying opportunities for resource efficiency and improving energy efficiency.
Two-thirds of CEOs say that they have now fully embedded sustainability into their business and believe it is critical to their long-term success.
